Our care

Care that fits a life, not a checklist

Eight ways we support people at home across Burton upon Trent, Swadlincote and surrounding areas — combined however they need to be, at published prices.

What we do

Our home care services

Most people we support use two or three of these together. Choose whichever sounds closest and we will shape the detail around the person.

Where our limits are

We provide home care — visiting calls, overnight cover and live-in packages. We are not a nursing agency: we do not prescribe medication, give injections or change dressings, and we do not make clinical decisions. Those sit with the GP and district nursing team.

If what someone needs has moved beyond what we are registered and trained to deliver, we will tell you honestly rather than taking on care we cannot provide safely.

Care that fits the day you actually have.

No surprises

One price list, every service

Whether a visit is personal care, dementia support or companionship, it is charged at the same published rate for that length of visit. We do not price specialist care higher because the word sounds more serious.

There is no setup fee, no joining charge, and no assessment fee. The price you see is the price on the invoice.

Behind the visit

The systems that keep care consistent

Good care is not only what happens in the room. It is whether everybody supporting someone is working from the same picture.

Birdie

Care planning & digital records

Organised digital care planning, visit notes and continuity of information, so everyone supporting a person is working from the same picture.

QCS

Policies & compliance

Structured policies and procedures that support professional standards across everything we do.

Lumis

Staff e-learning

Ongoing e-learning and staff development, so our team keeps building on what they know.

What families say about our care

Given to Luxuricare directly

David HorneBurton upon Trent

“Lyndsey formed a lovely relationship with my Dad and was kind and supportive with my Mum despite Mums mood swings and increasing aggressive behaviour. She was always reassuring and kept me well informed, appreciating my difficulties following surgery and not living locally. Her professional manner helped me make difficult decisions when it became apparent my parents needs couldn’t be met in their home.

“I cant thank my dads amazing carers enough for all they do for him and my mum & the massive help they are to me. Today they have taken my dad on his birthday trip to Twycross zoo. he’s been so excited and is having the best time with them these ladies didn’t have to do this they wanted to because they care.”

“The gentleman pictured is my uncle. It’s been a rough 12 months, diagnosed with Parkinson’s and lost his wife of 52 years in January. Lyndsey was introduced to myself and my uncle around 10 months ago and it’s difficult to put into words how positive her impact has been. It isn’t just ‘care’ but ‘caring’.

Questions about our services

Do you provide live-in or overnight care?
Yes, both. Live-in care places a carer in the home to support daily life as set out in the agreed package. Overnight care covers the night itself, as either a waking night or a sleeping night. Both are quoted as tailored packages rather than published rates, because what they involve varies so much between households.
Does a live-in carer work 24 hours a day?
No. A live-in carer has agreed rest and break periods — typically around two hours a day — and where the care package requires it, another carer covers that period so support continues. Any provider implying one person is available every hour of every day is not describing live-in care accurately.
Can we combine more than one service in a visit?
Yes, and most people do. A single 45-minute morning call might include personal care, a medication prompt, breakfast and a proper conversation. You are buying a length of visit, not a menu of separate items.
How long are your visits?
Our standard care calls are 30 minutes, 45 minutes and one hour. Every price is published on our pricing page — there is no hourly minimum you have to work around and no hidden rate.
Do you charge more for a specialist service like dementia care?
No. Dementia care, palliative care and personal care are all charged at the same published visit rates. What changes is how the visit is planned and who we send, not the price.
What if we are not sure which service we need?
That is the most common situation, and it is exactly what the free care assessment is for. We visit, we listen, and we tell you what we think would help — including if the honest answer is that you do not need us yet.
Are your carers trained for the service we need?
Our team's ongoing learning runs through Lumis, our e-learning platform, and our policies and procedures are structured through QCS. If a person's needs call for something we are not set up to deliver safely, we say so rather than taking the work.

Not sure which service you need?

Most people are not, and that is fine. Book a free care assessment and we will work it out with you — in your own home, with no obligation afterwards.
