Compassionate Palliative Support at Home

Gentle personal care focused on comfort and dignity, for people who wish to remain at home.

Is this the right support?

When someone is living with a life-limiting illness, a great deal of what helps day to day is practical and personal: being clean and comfortable, having a drink within reach, a calm presence in the room, and a family who are not carrying every task alone.

That is the part we support with. We work alongside the GPs, district nurses, hospice teams and specialist services already involved — we do not replace them, and we do not provide nursing or clinical treatment.

How we can help

  • Personal care with great gentleness — washing, dressing, mouth care, comfort.
  • Help with positioning and comfort — as agreed in the care plan.
  • Meals and drinks — small, tempting, whatever is manageable that day.
  • A calm presence — company, quiet, or simply not being on your own.
  • Practical support around the home — so the household keeps running.
  • Communication with the family — clear, honest and kind.

For you and your family

What that means in practice

The difference this makes for the person receiving care — and for the family around them.

Comfort and dignity first

Everything is measured against whether it makes the person more comfortable and more themselves. That is the whole standard.

Families are supported too

Relatives are often exhausted and frightened. Practical help and straightforward communication take a real weight off.

Working alongside the professionals

We coordinate with the health professionals already involved and keep clear records through Birdie so information is not lost between visits.

Being clear about what we do

Luxuricare provides personal care and practical support. We are not a nursing service and we do not provide clinical or medical treatment. Symptom management, prescribing and clinical decisions remain with the GP, district nursing team, hospice or specialist palliative care service involved.

We describe working alongside those services in the ordinary sense of coordinating around someone's care. We do not claim any formal partnership, contract or affiliation with the NHS or any hospice.

What families say

Given to Luxuricare directly

David HorneBurton upon Trent

“Lyndsey formed a lovely relationship with my Dad and was kind and supportive with my Mum despite Mums mood swings and increasing aggressive behaviour. She was always reassuring and kept me well informed, appreciating my difficulties following surgery and not living locally. Her professional manner helped me make difficult decisions when it became apparent my parents needs couldn’t be met in their home.

“I cant thank my dads amazing carers enough for all they do for him and my mum & the massive help they are to me. Today they have taken my dad on his birthday trip to Twycross zoo. he’s been so excited and is having the best time with them these ladies didn’t have to do this they wanted to because they care.”

“The gentleman pictured is my uncle. It’s been a rough 12 months, diagnosed with Parkinson’s and lost his wife of 52 years in January. Lyndsey was introduced to myself and my uncle around 10 months ago and it’s difficult to put into words how positive her impact has been. It isn’t just ‘care’ but ‘caring’.

Questions about palliative care

Do you provide nursing care?

No. We provide personal care and practical support at home. Nursing tasks and clinical treatment are carried out by district nurses, hospice teams or other health professionals.

Can you visit more often as things change?

Visit frequency and length can be reviewed and increased by agreement. Needs in this situation can change quickly, and the care plan is meant to move with them.

Can you support us overnight?

Our published service is visiting care calls of up to one hour. If overnight support is what is needed, please call us — we will tell you honestly whether we can help and, if not, point you towards the services that can.

How do we start when things are already difficult?

Call us on 07720 829727. We will keep the first conversation short and practical, and arrange an assessment quickly rather than putting you through a long process.
