About us

A care company built on purpose

The kind of care you would want for your own family — local, transparent, organised and genuinely attentive.

Every figure above can be checked on the public Companies House and CQC registers.

Why we exist

Care worth having, close to home

Luxuricare was founded on a simple, slightly uncomfortable observation: a great deal of home care is delivered by people who care very much, inside systems that do not.

Visits get shortened to make a round work. A different carer arrives every week because the rota is built around availability rather than continuity. A family finds out what happened at a visit by asking, because nothing was written down. None of that is the fault of the carer standing in the kitchen. It is the fault of how the work around them is organised.

So we built the organisation first. Care plans and visit notes live in Birdie, so everyone supporting a person is working from the same picture. Policies and procedures are structured through QCS rather than kept in someone's head. Ongoing learning runs through Lumis. None of that is glamorous, and none of it is what you notice when a carer is helping your mum get dressed. It is what makes that moment reliable rather than lucky.

The other half is honesty about money. Our prices are published. There is no setup fee, no assessment fee, no mileage charge and no premium for asking about dementia care rather than personal care. If you can see the price before you call, you are negotiating from a position of knowledge rather than hope.

What we are careful not to claim

We are a young company. We were incorporated in April 2024 and the CQC has registered us but has not yet inspected us. You will not find a star rating on this site, an average score, a client count or a testimonial from someone who does not exist. When those things are real and verifiable, we will publish them. Until then, the absence is the point.

The person behind it

Lyndsey Ratcliffe founded Luxuricare and is the registered manager named on its CQC registration.

In a company this size that is not a symbolic role. She is involved in assessments, she is reachable, and the standard of care is directly her responsibility rather than something delegated upwards to a regional office.

The work itself is ordinary. That is rather the point.

A cup of tea made the way someone likes it. A shower taken without rushing. Someone noticing that the post has not been opened for three days. Done reliably, week after week, that is what keeps a person at home.

What we hold ourselves to

Our principles

  • Publish the price before anyone has to ask for it.
  • Never claim a rating, review or accreditation we cannot evidence.
  • Say no to care we are not set up to deliver safely.
  • Write down what happened at a visit, so nobody has to rely on memory.
  • Protect visit length — a 30-minute call means 30 minutes.
  • Give families a way out: seven days to change their mind.

Outside the visit

The bits that are not on the care plan

Easter deliveries, a birthday lunch out, leaflets round the doors on a Saturday morning. None of it is billable and none of it is in anyone's job description — which is rather the point of putting it on the About page rather than the marketing one.

These are our own photographs, not a stock library.

What families say

Given to Luxuricare directly

David HorneBurton upon Trent

“Lyndsey formed a lovely relationship with my Dad and was kind and supportive with my Mum despite Mums mood swings and increasing aggressive behaviour. She was always reassuring and kept me well informed, appreciating my difficulties following surgery and not living locally. Her professional manner helped me make difficult decisions when it became apparent my parents needs couldn’t be met in their home.

“I cant thank my dads amazing carers enough for all they do for him and my mum & the massive help they are to me. Today they have taken my dad on his birthday trip to Twycross zoo. he’s been so excited and is having the best time with them these ladies didn’t have to do this they wanted to because they care.”

“The gentleman pictured is my uncle. It’s been a rough 12 months, diagnosed with Parkinson’s and lost his wife of 52 years in January. Lyndsey was introduced to myself and my uncle around 10 months ago and it’s difficult to put into words how positive her impact has been. It isn’t just ‘care’ but ‘caring’.

Questions about Luxuricare

How long has Luxuricare been going?
LUXURICARE LTD was incorporated on 24 April 2024 and is registered at Companies House under number 15677723. We are a young company, and we would rather tell you that than pretend to a history we do not have.
Are you registered with the CQC?
Yes. Luxuricare is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a homecare agency for the regulated activity of personal care, under location ID 1-27095662090. The service has not yet been inspected, so there is no rating to show. Our CQC page sets out exactly what that means.
Who runs the company?
Lyndsey Ratcliffe founded Luxuricare and is its director. She is also the Registered Manager named on our CQC registration, which is a legal accountability for the quality and safety of the service rather than a job title on a letterhead. In a company this size, she is the person you are likely to meet.
Are you a franchise or part of a group?
No. Luxuricare is an independent company operating from one office in Bretby. There is no head office elsewhere setting our prices or our rounds.
What area do you cover?
Burton upon Trent, Swadlincote and surrounding areas. Whether we can cover a specific village depends on where our team is working that day, so please ask us about your address rather than assuming either way.
How do I know the care is being delivered properly?
Care plans and visit records are kept in Birdie, our digital care planning system, and families can be given access to see which carer is attending, visit times and visit notes. Spot checks and supervisions are also carried out in person several times a year.
